I COMP'ed
Yay, i comped on my CHEST.
Which means I am competent enough to take a chest Xray without any supervision.
Now for this semester, i have to comp on the HAND, WRIST and ABDOMEN ahhh
I was so nervous, but i passed. Its so hard to remember to Shield the patient so they don't get to much radiation, and to remember what position to put the patient in, what projection to use, what landmarks are for what, when to use the correct markers, but seems like when you have a patient in the room, it just comes natural. Practicing on students confuses the shit out of me.
Anyways 3 months into the program with 93 more weeks til graduation, whoo hoo ( sarcastically said)
I love it though.

A time machine would be good about NOW
I have really had to make myself learn in the past few months how to be a better christian.
Even though people arent true to me, doesnt mean I cant be a good friend back.
I always thought friends should be there for you, and you for them, and if they werent true you dont need them. But my new outlook has changed. I will do all I can to be a good friend and know that I cant change them, I can only change myself. If they arent true, Thats there responsibility..
School is going great, I have been making good grades, studying my butt off and counting down the days till I graduate ( 23 more months) haha
I hope to go back to school one more year for sonography but dont know weither we will pause for a year on that to start a family .
Katelynn, Just want to say sorry for your loss. Stay positive and know that god has plans for you and with time you will be pregnant again with a beautiful baby.

Ready for a long NAP
School is great, just really exhausted.
Dont really have interesting news as of now.
I have met alot of new friend who are awesome people.
I have also realized lately that I have out grown alot of things and people.
Its like I have seen right through some people who think there invisible to the world
I am so glad im taking this journey in life. I feel so refreshed and so thankful.
I miss extra time with Kris though, all my time goes to studying :(
He is so supportive and I love him so much!

one week down, SEVERAL to go
School is awesome! I am on the ED rotation for two weeks and have learned so much. There is a really nice RT who told me and another student if we are in her way, we are doing our job, which makes me feel good, because i want to be in peoples way and learn so much. Some people are nice and want us to learn others are mean and want us to stay out of there way. I guess thats everywhere. Anyways Its awesome though. I have gotten to see so much in the Trauma center.
I have always watched on TV people getting intubated but watching it in real life was so awesome. We take our portable machine over to the ICU in ED because those patients cant move, so the RT lets me take it , and lets the other student postition it, ( even though we dont know how yet), and lets me put the film behind the patients back. Its good expeirence and good hands on learning for just the first two weeks.
I am so ready to learn. Its neat to see how many different type of patients we will come in contact with, some nice, some rude, some have alheimers, some are on life support, all different types of people, all different types of problems. I love the way Shands is so caring to there patients.
Anyways its just the second week, so hopefully we start getting into actually learning in class.
I have been reading my Patient care book so i can be a little ahead of the game.
All the students in my class, are so awesome! I am so glad i chose this profession instead.
So for the third time, my diamond fell out of my ring. Had to take it back to Kay Jewelers and was so fed up with it, i was going to just trade it in for a new up to date ring, but of course there was nothing i liked so there repairing it again for the 3rd time. I want to keep the one kris proposed with but they said because of the setting of the ring, obviously my life style doesnt work with this ring- like my lifestyle is rough or something.
anyways kris said to just get a new one, but i couldnt find anything i liked better.

Getting older/Growing up...
So school starts next Tuesday. I am so excited! I cant wait!
My birthday is this thursday and it doesnt feel like I am this old already. It seems I was 18 just a year ago. I dont see how I am about to be 24.. sometimes I dont even know how life has went by so fast with getting married and school, and just growing up. I am so glad my life is where it is now. I never imagined it this good. Never gave myself enough credit I guess. Just glad everything happens for a reason and I was blessed with Kris and family and a handful of friends who are real and wonderful.
My tennessee trip was awesome. Would have been better with Kris. But work comes first, its what pays the bills. :)
It was nice to get away from Jacksonville and enjoy the mountains and get to see the NASCAR race for the first time, even though my race car driver didnt win. :(
Seems like with the years I have realized more who I am, and realized more who I want to be as a person. I have seen who are real friends, who are not so real, realized even though my family isnt perfect, they are my family and I love them so much and they are always going to be there. I have realized the petty little things do not matter and to always be positive because it could be so much worse.
Its funny when I was younger, I would tell my step mom and dad, how much I hated them and how much they ruined my life because they would always keep me on restriction, and not allow me to do all the fun teenager things..... now more than ever, I thank them for keeping a close eye on me, and also for having lee, my brother tell me about how guys are, so I wasnt doing things other girls were doing at such a young age. I could have easily taken a different path in life and Im so thankful god helped me get where I am today. Talking to my mom, she remembers when I was such a snob and wouldnt step foot in a walmart, or a dollar store when I was little, and now the dollar store is my favorite little cheap spot to go! I cant wait to experience that with my children as they grow up. Gosh I cant wait till school is over so we can start a family.

TENNESSEE HERE WE COME..... i think
Well of course my husband has to work for the MEANEST company ever. Publix Distribution Center. Since FAY - the tropical storm, is coming, he may have to stay behind and work on his vacation, So all the publix store get all the water and supplies they will need.
I am so upset. This was suppose to be our last trip atleast for the next two years before i started school. Hopefully Fay will turn and he will be able to go too.
I told him i would not go, but he wants me to have a good vacation. What vacation would be good without him though :(

"Im so excited.....that i just cant hide it......."
So, i feel like a 2nd grader..... . I went and bought all the materials i will need this weekend for school: lock, paper, pens, day planner, scrubs, lab jacket, medical clogs, techinique book for my positioning notes. OMG i couldnt be happier. I wish the first day of class was today! Im sure once i start and get way OVERWHELMED it will be a different emotion but for right now i am on a HUGE high!
I know this will take two years, but its so worth it and im so grateful. I cant wait. If anyone is interested in this program: check it out: jax.shands.org and look for radiology tech program.
Tuition is $1900 for the first year and $1000 for the second year. ( cheaper than any other)
Medical and Dental are provided during this time, and a $7.00 dollar meal card to use everyday in the cafe. What better program than this. Plus unlike most hospital based programs, this program is linked with FCCJ and i will not only take board and become a registered RT, i will also have a degree from FCCJ. YAY!
Oh and i quit my day time job AUG 29th, so im sad about that but excited to train the new girl this week. Plus next week is the TRIP to bristol. I am glad we are taking a trip before i start school. I will need it haha!

ORIENTATION
It was great. I really enjoyed learning all about the things i will be doing for the next two years. We went over so much, i was actually starting to get a headache. But it made me feel so good knowing its finally here!
I went to leave and NO SIGN OF MY KEYS. I swear this is my luck. This real sweet girl named Ashley stayed behind and helped me look for them. Still no sign of the keys anywhere, so i left. She was so sweet and nice. She took me to work.
So even though im crying at the moment cause CHEVY wont pick up there phone and i need a key made, i still made a new friendship that im sure will grow for the next two years
UPDATE: I called Shands a hour later, and they had my keys! YAY
Boss took me up there and my car and keys are now safe at last.
So anyways how about my First day of school, SEPT 2nd, I will be observing in the ED all day.

Nothing Going on..... Just feel like writing
Life is simple at the moment. Just trying to save money for when School starts.
Everything is going Great and I couldnt be happier. Orientation is Monday for the radiology program and OMG im so nervous but I cant wait...
My mom is suppose to be moving back to jacksonville in whitehouse, so im excited about that, because my brother is now playing for NORMANDY football. He is 9 and 101 pounds, he is going to be a good football player. YAY
My stepmom is moving back to jacksonville from oklahoma this weekend so i am so excited about that as well. She is my Ex step mom, but still my mom that helped raise me... so im glad both moms can be closer to me now.
My family is all confusing... with ex steps or steps or halfs... haha i have two half brothers. jimmy 28 and wyatt, 9 and step brother, lee 28. ...... I got beat up all my life, so thats why im a little mean sometimes. Im glad i never had a sister, i had my cousin kathy to be my best friend growing up.
I still cant wait for AUG 21st - BRISTOL TENNESSEE here we come, YAY!
I cant wait for the races. It's going to be so much fun.

NERVES ARE GETTING THE BEST OF ME
Two more weeks until Orentation. I am so Nervous yet excited about my future. I am so ready to begin this journey and Apply myself like i have never done before. I know i will do fine and i will push myself beyond belief, but I am getting so scared of what to expect. I think after the Orentation i will have some knowledge on the things i will be going through in the next 2 years.
GOD knows it has taken me long enough to get here. I was a slacker, only cared about the moment and not the future, but you better believe i will raise my children to always push there hardest in school and to make something of themselves. It took me awhile to figure it out, one minute i would be on the right track, the next minute i would fall off, and then get right back on, and then slip off. Finally I am determined, more mature and ready to start this journey.
I already have a wonderul marriage, supportive family members, the greatest dog ever, a few good friends who truly care, and im healthy along with my family and friends, to top this off with a degree and babies is the greatest gift i can think of, and for that, God i thank you for the Past, the present, and the future.
